End Time Monsters
Performance

Apocalyptic prophecies in ignorance, the government suddenly announced officially: on January 1, 2013, the true end of the world is arriving.

The story begins at six o’clock in the evening of December 31, 2012, on a street in Hong Kong. Some citizens became erratic—cross-dressers, nudists, anti-socialists, rapists, murderers, con artists, beggars filled the streets; incomprehensible events such as indifference to death, indiscriminate killings, and time reversals began to occur. As the apocalypse drew nearer, the world descended into darkness… Watch as these unfamiliar strangers, their final six hours of life, interweave in a non-linear narrative.

“The director/actors’ precise staging and scene interpretation make the mental states vividly alive… presenting the inner struggles as the apocalypse approaches in a lifelike manner.” – Ho Chun Fai, Ta Kung Pao

“The directing and lighting are exceptionally brilliant. A simple bench located on the street allows us to rest, reflect, regret, converse on the journey of life, articulating the joys and confusions of life. Through imagery of time reversal, the director probes life.” – Leung Wai Chun, House News

“Using a subtle flow to express profound compassion and love from within, this is the most beautiful and precious aspect of you young people.” – Fung Wai Hang, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre
